Buying directly from a company or their representative severely limits a business from being exposed to alternative designs, established best practices, and are very often locked into Long Term Contracts that can have major consequences.

 

Having worked directly for Carriers, Manufacturers, and System Integrators throughout my career, I was often left with a feeling that we could have done much better for our clients.  If for example we were allowed to provide an alternative design, propose a Circuit from another Carrier that was more reliable, negotiated better pricing, or better terms. The frustration was, we were employed by these companies to sell their products and services, or what their Partners said they could deliver.
